Some more updates and news of the eurovision season 2016 in your weekly EOT ESC report.
Some more choices were made. One more song is known and other are starting.
1. Georgia - the choice out of more than 100 songs
2. Spain - Loreen: Said Yay!
3. ESC 2016 slogan - "Come together"
1. Georgia - a silent choice!?
Till now it was the most silent announcement of a represent in the running eurovision season. Already in december of last year the national broadcaster of Gerorgia informed about the selection.
Nicka Kocharov & Young Georgian Lolitaz are the once fighting on the eurovision stage 2016.
The broadcaster asked for songs for the band and got more 100.
Last week they presented the 5 songs the audiance now can vote for.
2. Spain - Say Yay!?
An internal selection of 5 very young and almost unknown artist was the biggest surprise of the spanish broadcaster. The most known artist was Maria Isabel, a former Junior Eurovision winner.
It was also the first time that the broadcaster had more than one song completly in english.
An other modification was the invitation of a international jury to vote for the song.
And also the jury in the studio had international support with Loreen the winner of the eurovision 2012.
At the end it was Barei winning 4 of the 5 votings and making the 2nd place at the 5th.
For the first time an english song will compete for Spain at the eurovision. We will see if Europe says YAY!
3. Come together
The biggest music show of the world always tried to connect through the music, to build bridges, to let people join, to fell their hearts beat, to show that at the end we all are one.
Also this year the slogan sends a message to europe and to the world. Perhaps the eurovision slogan never had a bigger mission sending a statement as this year.
Not more, not less. That could help to reunite a continent which feels like being as far away from each other like not for a long time. Coming together, speaking, listening and just meet others is what europe for sure at the moment needs the most! Also Sweden as nation had some changes in the last month. Perhaps Eurovision will also be a statement for the own country.
