The first day at RTP

The first day of Eurovision in Portugal, at least as organizer and public television did not want to miss the unnoticed date. All day, in the entertainment program of morning and afternoon, it was dedicated to the event that will take place in May in Lisbon. During hours, with lots of interviews of former participants, organization, fans and of course the draw of the semifinals.


Carlos Mendes, Dora or the first Portuguese participant in Eurovision, António Calvário were interviewed and told a little about their Eurovision experience.


The spaces that will host the different events in Eurovision were visited. The Altice Arena where the semifinals and finals will be, the Terreiro do Paço that will host the Eurovillage for a week, the museum where the Welcome Party will be held with its Red Carpet. Also the Euroclub area was mentioned - Cais do Sodré.


Carla Ribeiro and Telmo Miranda, former participants in the national final of the host country, performed classic hits from Eurovision (winners) and songs that represented Portugal since its inception in Eurovision.


The 3 presenters were interviewed and talked about their expectations for the event and how they see Eurovision today. Daniela Ruah, the 4th presenter is in the United States yet. The history of Portuguese participation was a constant in the program where they could see and hear small pieces of the most popular Portuguese songs.



The fans were not forgotten. Nina Pinto (fan and former participant of the Festival da Canção) and the president of the official Eurovision club in Portugal were present telling their experiences and how they live eurovision year after year.



The national TV is preparing to wrap its audience in the eurovision environment and the countdown starts today! Good job RTP!
