NEW ALBUMS PART 2

Posted by Eurovision On Top on November 4, 2019 at 12:25 PM Comments comments (0)

Christmas is approaching and publishers are preparing for the new record editions of the high season. After summer, it feels good to come back to the couch and listen to a CD of our favorite artists. In the midst of release, many are returning and first try a single and then release a new album if there is considerable success. But others insist on satisfying their most loyal following with new song sets.

Eurovision winners continue their careers with new forays. Recently, Celine Dion presented us her Courage in two editions, the regular one and a Deluxe with 4 more songs. Tanel Padar, Estonia's first and only winner, makes his foray into Paris on his latest album. Mans Zelmerlow returns to albums with Time, the eighth studio album and debuted at # 18 on the Swedish chart. Another winner, Conchita Wurst, in a very different record of the ballad with which she won Eurovision and the last album returns with Truth Over Magnitude (TOM) in which she expresses her constant search and means WURST values any compromises.

The month of November will start off very lively for the Irish Westlife who are back with their fellow ESC participant Nicky Byrne with the expected album Spectrum. From next door, from the UK, runner up Michael Ball is also back. Back Together with Alfie Boe, they revisit musical themes in what is expected to be a big hit in Her Majesty's country. Cliff Richard and the Shadows publish a 2 CD collection: The Best of The Rock 'n' Roll Pioneers.

From Belgium and the Netherlands we reach Laura Tresoro's debut album which tries to overcome her Limits; Straight to you from OG3NE; the return of the Clouseau. A good three years after 'Clouseau Danst', Clouseau is back with their thirteenth Dutch-language album, called 'Tweesprong'. It has become a very honest and emotional album, and Koen and Kris sincerely think that they have never had such a collection of impressive songs on one album. And they don't say that because that is often the classic promo talk: you just feel that they are really proud of their new album, perhaps the most proud of their long career. Honesty, warmth and sometimes coldness, zest for life and sometimes doubt, deep joy and sometimes bitter disappointment: all those emotions have their place on 'Tweesprong', within 14 fantastic good songs.

A look at the chart: Amir - 2 years of Addiction

Posted by Eurovision On Top on October 29, 2019 at 3:05 PM Comments comments (1)

Amir's Addictions album has left thousands of people addicted to their songs. Precisely two years after the release of its first edition, Amir's third album is a three-time platinum record in France and gold record in Belgium. After this edition, the collector edition has been released with some extras and most recently (last May) the Addictions-Ultimate Version. This latest edition has 4 more themes than the original edition. This week, two years ago, the album is 104 weeks old on the France Album Chart and is currently the oldest album on the chart! Despite only having reached # 4, the album has remained more than half of the last few years uninterruptedly in the Top 50.

NEW ALBUMS PART 1

Christmas is approaching and publishers are preparing for the new record editions of the high season. After summer, it feels good to come back to the couch and listen to a CD of our favorite artists. In the midst of release, many are returning and first try a single and then release a new album if there is considerable success. But others insist on satisfying their most loyal following with new song sets.

From Italy we get three albums that are already doing real damage to the Charts. The edition of Marco Mengoni Atlantico's award-winning album, this time live, with his best performances, is a collection to be reckoned with. Emma Marrone's return, always bellisima, as well as the brilliant edition of Franco Battiato's album "Torneremo Ancora" with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra are moments of Italian music not to be missed.

From Poland, we get two gems from the early days and glory of the country in Eurovision. Kasia Kowalska presents her version of MTV's mythical Unplugged while Justyna, eccentric and controversial, introduces us to a new version of Maria Magdalena, all is one. After a period of rest to catch up on her personal life, the Spanish Pastora Soler returns with Sentir.

In Northern Europe, record buzz is much but much more is going to be expected. From Estonia, Tanja and her colleagues introduce The Swingers CD with versions and not only; Ivo Linna, one of the country's most successful artists, presents us with the traditional Südames Eestimaa. From neighboring Latvia, Triana Park returns with 11. From Finland, Jarkko Ahola in his more metal version brings him Metallisydan as a successor to the successful Mä tuun sun luo, an album that includes hits like Dion Holy Diver and Iron Maiden's Wasted years, but its most surprising choices include Neil Young's Old Man. The album opens with the megahit Alone by Heart which jarkko said he is not very familiar with.
