Lisbon is in everyone's mouth! Not only because Salvador has won Eurovision but because for two years has been economic growth specially thanks to tourism that gives envy to other European capitals. Today we will start a series of articles until May, about the city that will receive the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. From history to their cultural life we will try to let you know everything you always wanted to know about Lisbon. Today, Lisbon as a postcard!
Surely there will be no problem choosing the postcards for Eurovision 2018 because the homework has been done a long time. Year after year Lisbon is being chosen to make advertise, shoot films, do weddings and video clips. The last big brand has been Apple that has chosen the mythical old Lisbon Bridge (Ponte 25 de Abril) to show the quality of its new iPhone.
Far is the time in which sites of Lisbon were used to pretend that they were other cities. It is now assumed to be Lisbon. It says the magazine "Visão": the reasons to choose Lisbon are its climate (many hours of sun); the great diversity of landscapes in a small area; the qualifications of its people in which many speak English; its food and low prices.
Madonna, Eric Cantona, Michael Fassbender, Florent Pagny or Monica Belucci have already chosen Lisbon to live even if that is not why the city is more fashionable, but its authenticity is still preserved.
The number of tourists increases every day, from those who want to discover this city to those who want to visit the places where their favorite stars have been shot. We refer to Bollywood. The Indian film industry has shot many of his films not only in Lisbon but throughout the country. Balupu or Satya Harishchandra are some of those films.
But advertising has positioned Lisbon as one of its favorites. David Beckham starred in many of those ads; Hermès filmed La Flânerie in its streets; Yves Saint Laurent used the terrace of their hotels; Lamborghini crossed its roads. But there are many more.
Recently, Eurovision stars have also discovered Portugal to shoot their videos. Michal Szpak, Dima Bilan, Jamala, Sergey Lazarev and now Sergio Dalma are some of those artists to whom Lisbon and Portugal have given them glamour.
So do not forget your mobile phone or your camera to appear as a whole famous star! And if you want to know where to get your photos, you can start watching music videos, TV commercials or Indian films.
