Yulia Samoylova finally to Eurovision

Yulia Samoylova has finally been officially designated as the representative of Russia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. The news has come to light after the rumors of the past few days.

The 1TV station has confirmed the participation of Yulia: "As Channel One announced last year, Yulia would become the representative of the country in 2018 in case of not being able to participate in the 2017 edition. We confirm in this way that this plan will continue , so Yulia is already immersed in the preparations for the contest. "

Yulia Samoylava, who was banned from participating in Eurovision 2017, will represent Russia in the European music event. As the Russian public entity has assured, they fulfill with the promise that they made last edition, that she would be the one who would go back to the contest.

Russia made its debut at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994. It has participated in a total of 20 occasions, winning once: in 2008, with Dima Bilan and his song «Believe». In addition, Russia has been in second place on four occasions (2000, 2006, 2012 and 2015), in third place on three occasions (2003, 2007 and 2016), and obtained a fifth place in 2013.
